This course is aimed at people that have never camped before or who want a refresher before heading out. Doing it right the first time can make you a life long outdoors person, doing it wrong will make you never want to do it again, and no one wants that, the outdoors has so much to offer us for body, mind and soul.

If we treat the wilderness with respect and and follow a few simple rules we can have years of trouble free camping.

This course 1 day in the classroom in Oakville and 2 days 1 night at Norval near Brampton.

What equipment is out there
What to take
How to pack it
How to carry it
How to set up camp
Camp routine
Staying warm
Lighting a camp fire like a pro and keeping it going, also fire safety
Introduction to Map, compass and GPS use (this is not a map reading course)
Introduction to wilderness first aid (this is not a first aid course)
Breaking camp
What to do when things go wrong, emergency procedures (this is not a survival course)
